Default Petition For Energy Drain Change

This is at 16 Inspiriation Magic...

Energy Drain
Elite Spell. Target foe loses 9 Energy. You gain 2 Energy for each point of Energy lost.

IMO, I want it to say something like this

Energy Drain
Elite spell. Target foe loses 12 Energy. You gain 2 Energy for each point of Energy lost.

WOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOO WOOOOOOOOO! Here comes the flame bus! Everyone off at the last stop! ^^

How is that? >.> People choose 18 energy loss... [energy burn][energy surge] over [energy drain] since [energy tap] is a smaller variable. IMO, 3 more energy at the cost of an elite with + 5 seconds recharge? No, needs to be buffed.

Okay, seriously, the PvP|||||PvE update was enough. Not sure if it's stronger in PvP or what, but it seriously DOES need to be buffed.

Im Energy Drain and Energy Tap are for pve way too uninteresting, there the mesmer have way better E-management Skills, that even protect them very good agaisnt certain damages (all the elemental mantras for example) and the interrupt e managements ect.

I'd really like it, when Energy Tap and Drain would have effects like these:

Energy Tap:

Cost: 1 Energy, CT: 2s, Recharge: 15s
Your selected Target will lose 1-5 Energy and will suffer for the next 5 seconds on an Energy Degeneration of -1-2. You will receive for these 5 seconds an additional Energy Regeneration of +1-2.

Energy Drain:

Cost: 1 Energy, CT: 2s, Recharge: 20s
Your selected Target will lose 5-10 Energy and will suffer for the next 10 seconds an Energy Degeneration of -1-4, while you will receive for the 10 seconds an Energy Regeneration of additional +1-4.

This way would be those both skills for mesmers alot mroe interesting in PvE and sure also too for PvP, but there it might by overpowered, but PvP versions could have then higher Energy Cost and higher recharge times for example.

I see those skills personally better, when they work like the necromancers Life Siphon, but only with Energy instead of Health Points. This way those both skills would become together a very good Pressure Synergy for E-Denial, together with skills that deal damage, when the foe reaches 0 Energy. Make those 2 Skills then instead of Skills Hexes, so that they can be removed and it iwll be balanced more.

Just make it "You gain 40 energy ololol" for PvE, energy denial makes no sense anyway.

Yeah. Just didn't think 2-3 more energy was worth it being an elite. >.<

Dear OP,
Energy Tap and Energy Drain used to be similar to that about 2 and a half years ago. But with that, energy denial became VERY AGRESSIVE, and energy burn also made enemies lose much more energy. Because of that, Energy Drain and Energy Tap became nerfed because it was too easy to suck all energy from targets. Energy tap/drain got nerfed first, and then the rest of the e-denial skills.

/not signed. It's fine the way it is.

E-denial in PvE is pretty much a waste of time since AI's have buffs to their energy (faster re-gen, larger pools of energy). In most cases, those enemies are dead long before they run low on energy

I generally carry E-drain for a quick energy boost, and with a few other well-thought-out skills, energy management should never be a problem.

No, it doesn't. You're forgetting it casts 2 seconds quicker than [Energy Tap] That's a big deal.

/notsigned, it's fine as is.
